Before heading outside to play in the snow, I made sure the kids were fully covered…. You know…hoodies, coats, hats, earmuffs, gloves… all of it.
When we came back inside, I told them to peel off the layers and change into something dry. We noticed something: with every layer removed, the clothes underneath were drier. By the time we reached the very first layer, everything was completely dry.
Stay with me…
There is a layer of you that remains:
Untouched.
Unmatched.
Untapped.
It’s layered by the the weight of expectations, habits, fear, your 9-5, and noise…and guess what….It’s completely DRYYYYY! Dead, if you will.
So…..strip the layers, stop complaining, regulate your nervous system and move! Find something that you enjoy doing outside of your 9-5. You are more than what you do and/or your title/position. Do the thing you’ve been avoiding…the thing that keeps you up at night…the thing that makes you smile….the thing that you daydream about…the thing that could actually be connected to the legacy you will leave for generations to come.
Yeah, I know it’s scary but you want to know what else is scary? A grave that holds silenced potential.
I’m sure you know by now, that this was never really about wet clothes, or the snow and more about you getting out and LIVING!
Don’t just survive! Thrive !
